A Bunch of Questions! Get to know the Author Part 2

Here’s another set of questions! Feel free to ask your own in the comments.

Do you find it distracting to read while you’re writing the first draft? Totally. If I start reading as I’m writing the first draft, I will always start editing right then and there.

Is it easier to write when stressed out? I haven’t been stressed out recently. Maybe that’s why my WIP is collecting dust! I’ve noticed when I get stressed at work, I write more once I get home. This has happened a few times with me.

Are you a fast writer or a slow writer? Once I start writing, I can’t stop until I’m too tired to go on. But overall, I’m a slow writer.

Have you ever gotten reader’s block? I think I got burned out last year when I read 55 books. I’ve only read 15 books this year!

How do you select the names of your characters? Names like Anya, Celestria, Miles, and Kyle, I already had way back when. Other names like Taryn, Duncan, Nessar, were inspired by real life people. When I can’t come up with a name, I’ll goggle their meanings or randomly type in letters on my keyboard.

As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up? By the fifth grade, I knew I wanted to be a writer one day. I also wanted to be a professional swimmer but that never took off.
