Extra Life Free Books Event

Starting on November 4th at noon until November 5th at 4am, I will be playing various video games to help children in need. In celebration for this charitable event, I will be giving away three of my books for free.

What is Extra Life?

Extra Life is a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising program within the gaming community. Participants fundraise year-round and pledge to game for 24 hours with one goal: to save and improve the lives of sick and injured kids. Funds raised stay local to help pediatric patients at 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across North America. Since 2008, Extra Life has raised more than $30 million for member hospitals. The movement, formed by gamers bonded by passion, is committed to saving and improving the lives of local kids.

This is personal for me…

Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and all of the east coast of Florida missed a direct hit from hurricane Irma. We got lucky. Yes we lost power, had to boil our water, lost cable (TV & net), and many trees have fallen, but it is nothing compared to what the islands, Key West, and the west coast of Florida have to deal with. Thankfully, my dad, who lives near Ft. Myers, is safe. But many lost much more.

And then there was hurricane Maria. My mother lives in Puerto Rico. The entire island is without power, perhaps for months. There is little to no communication to and from the island.

This hurricane season has been a terrible one.

All donations will go to the Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. Living in south Florida, I’ve had to deal with hurricanes my entire life. I’ve lived through Hurricane Andrew and twenty-five years later, I still remember it. Those living with Hurricane Harvey will never forget either but it does it get better. And I hope by sending donations to Corpus Christi, Texas, it will make a child’s life a little easier.

Driscoll Children’s Hospital is a tertiary care regional referral center offering the most complex and comprehensive medical and surgical care for children in South Texas. This 200-bed facility offers a 20-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a 40-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a state of the art Cath Lab and CT Scanner, a renal transplant program, and many other services. Driscoll Children’s Hospital serves a 33-county area of South Texas (an area the size of the state of South Carolina), and has five subspecialty centers, an urgent care center, and an after-hours clinic to service the rural areas.

I will be streaming on Twitch during the duration of my donation campaign. You can follow me to get updates when I do go live right here: https://www.twitch.tv/next_jen

If you can’t donate, please share to spread the word of Extra Life and everything that it does for the Children’s Miracle Network.

As a gift from me, I will be giving away all three of my Phoenix Element books from November 4th until the 7th over on Amazon. No need to enter a contest. Or to donate (but that would be awesome). Just one click.

To get your free books, head over to Amazon thanks to this link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/kindle/series/B071NSDFBF

About Phoenix Element: Think Harry Potter meets Avengers. This is a magical adventure that spans different planets, each with their own take on magic and aliens. Earth is still in the dark about how interesting the galaxy can be. And also how dangerous.
